We Are Honey Drip Media
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Meet Akilah Driver
Founder & Creative Director, Honey Drip Media
Akilah Driver is the visionary behind Honey Drip Media, a creative agency officially launched in 2025—but its roots trace back decades. Raised in Hagerstown, Maryland, Akilah’s passion for storytelling began when she picked up her mother’s digital camera and started filming her siblings in Law & Order reenactments and homemade music videos.
She pursued film studies at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina, but paused her academic journey to embrace motherhood. During this time, she pivoted to cosmetology school and reignited her creative spark by launching the Akilah Christine YouTube channel.
As her family grew—eventually including her husband, four children, and a mini dachshund—so did her digital presence. Akilah expanded to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, building a community of over 60,000 followers and generating tens of millions of views. She began her media career writing for Macaroni Kid and later served as a part-time social media strategist for Sara Madres Coaching.
In 2023, Akilah joined the Research Triangle Foundation, the organization behind Research Triangle Park, as a social media strategist. She was later promoted to Digital Media Manager, overseeing platforms for RTP, Frontier RTP, HUB RTP, and Boxyard RTP. She also spearheaded impactful initiatives like the Juneteenth Party at the Park and the web series Black Excellence U.
Driven by a deep love for storytelling, Akilah founded Honey Drip Media to help brands create stories that stick. Her mission is to add a personal, authentic touch to brand narratives and foster meaningful connections between businesses and their audiences.
Akilah returned to Saint Augustine’s University in 2021 and proudly earned her bachelor’s degree in film. When she’s not creating, she enjoys exploring new passions like gardening, beekeeping, and herbalism.
